3 months in 2019 (dates are flexible).


  • The students must have an academic background in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or any other similar field.
  • The programme is open to students studying in the last semester of their bachelor or master programme (it is possible to write their final thesis as part of the internship) or max 1 year after graduation from a partner academic institution at BSc or MSc level.
  • Taking a gap year between their bachelor and master.

Support to students

  • Living allowance (for accommodation, food, local transportation) of INR 65,000 monthly following FDFA guidelines for India.
  • International travel & visa cost reimbursement up to maximum CHF 1,000 per student.
  • Host companies will help the students to find an affordable accommodation.
  • Careful: A health insurance valid in India needs to be organized by the travelling student. Know more


Here are some the frequently asked questions by students who  wish to study in Banglore

I am not a Swiss national. Can I still apply?

Yes, the program is not restricted to Swiss nationals. However, you must be registered in or have graduated up to 1 year ago from a partner academic institution at BSc or MSc level.

Can I receive credit points for the internship?

This depends on your study course and academic institution. In the 2017 program, the projects could be accredited as the compulsory “Industrial Internship” of 8 ECTS for the MSc courses within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zürich.

For what type of visa must I apply?

You must apply for an intern visa of at least three months.

Can I extend the timeline of my internship?

You must discuss this bilaterally with your host company. Your living allowance provided by the Swiss partners will only cover a period of 3 months.

How can I find an accommodation in Bangalore?

Your Indian host company will help you in finding a suitable accommodation. The rent must be covered by your living allowance.
